The Global Hope Coalition’s 2017 A Hero for Humanity Award was given posthumously to Samuel Pisar, a survivor of Auschwitz, who became an advisor to President Kennedy on international trade, an architect of “peace through commerce” theory, and an indefatigable peacemaker and bridge builder, at the foundation’s gala dinner at the New York Public Library on September 18, 2017.
